Genuine Japanese woodblock print of a seated geisha stringing an instrument. Unframed in very good conditions.
Grandson of Torii Kiyomitsu; fifth in the Torii line.
Lived in Edo (Tokyo); pupil of Torii Kiyonaga. As a young man, made prints under Kiyomine; these are generally considered his best work. His subject chiefly a beauty actors, and scenes from plays. Later works carry the name of Kiyomitsu II.
